Fun fact: Working title of this was "I has Bubble."

I drew this random sketch ( [link] ) back in August, and after adding some flat colors and basic shading it was sitting around half-finished for a few months, getting picked at every now and then. I was inspired to finish it after recieving this awesome gift from Avyris: [link] . Besides rekindling my love for Kirn (Does it sound snobby to adore your own creation? Ah, I don't care, he's awesome for venting), it also introduced me to this amazing song, "The Night" by Disturbed [link] listen listen listen. Which in turn inspired me to finish this up.

I have stared at this for several hours while working on it and to be honest, I don't think I like it. There are too many anatomical mistakes and spots of laziness for me to be proud of it. However, I did do a lot of brainstorming on my story while working on it and I came up with what I think are a lot of good ideas . . . if anyone people express interest, I might be tempted to write up a summary. I'd like to stress that, although this picture is insanely cliche, neither character is to be considered good or bad. Both have their gaping faults, which I think is extremely important, especially on the protagonist, Kaylink in this case. Both have their moments of poor judgement or violence, both have their moments of kindness and nobility. I really need to make detailed refs for them with all this.

The plague "chains" around Kirn were inspired by this picture, drawn for my previous contest: [link] . In my story, characters have the ability to summon forth the essence of an element once during their life, to act as either an offensive or defensive. I tried my best to represent that here, though I'm sure most people will just see it as LOOK DOGS AND GLOWIES.
