To save your finished wolves, screenshot them and paste it somewhere. You may use these images anywhere so long as they are not sold for profit (virtual or real) and you do not claim them as your own! I'd love to see what you make of these, btw

Please don't edit products of this maker into neon-colored wolves; I created this specifically for natural colors and I find editing it neon extremely disrespectful.

To screenshot:
For using a PC, there is a button that says Print Screen in the upper-right of your keyboard. Press that, then open up a blank file in Paint or Photoshop and paste.
For Mac users, hold down Command+Control+Shift+4 and drag the pointer over the area you want to copy/paste. Then open a blank file and paste.

Devoted a very large portion of my weekend and today to work on this. So glad it's done, my God. This was annoying to make.

A lot of times when I'm chillin' with *Avyris on MSN we'll send each links to adoptables of "wolves" we find amusing. This is mostly because the adoptables normally consist of rainbow/emo splotches on templates that barely pass for canines. As well, many people seem to be creating their wolves from a very popular Create-A-Wolf flash game, which, while cute, does not accurately portray the colors/patterns found on real wolves. It's fun to mess with, but when I see people creating wolves with black fur, blue fire manes and rainbow spots it's just . . . weird.

Thus, the idea of my Wolf-Maker was born. It's an interactive flash that lets you pick and choose around 50 different markings in a variety of natural colors, to create realistic-looking wolf characters. Is this 100% realistic? No. But it's far more so than any others I've seen. There are no dark paw markings, no blue eyes, no stripes, spots, or legwarmers. Just natural wolfy goodness.

This also isn't meant to be a pure character creator. There is a lot of limitation still on what the finished products can look like. But if you're looking for quick filler, need to get a concept in your head, this is the flash for you. You can use these characters wherever you'd like, I don't care.

I am a total newbie at actionscript/coding and fought it every step of the way, so there is a very high probability you'll find some errors in this. If you find a mistake that has not been mentioned before, please report it.

Things I am aware of:
  • Clicking on a tab you've already been to can erase the settings you set after it, so for maximum ease of use you'll need to do it all in one go-through, or else be prepared to redo your markings. I'm sorry, but I don't know how to correct it, so if that's too much trouble for you . . . well, deal with it.



    • Also, big thanks to *The-Sei-Hound for supplying with the sketch from which I created the wolf. Any anatomy qualms, take it up with her.
